Though he sadly passed away in 2012, Carroll Shelby is recognized as one of the all-time most influential figures in American automotive history, with a long and illustrious career as a race car driver, entrepreneur, and automotive designer. In addition to the pivotal role Shelby played in helping Ford dethrone Ferrari at Le Mans through the design and development of the GT, the Texan native is probably best remembered for famously penning the iconic Shelby Cobra.
