Maura Nestor Haverly has had a very diverse career in the arts, since dinosaurs roamed the earth, starting with Hammer Galleries/Knoedler Graphics in New York. In 1985 she was named Director of Art Expo, with fairs in New York and Los Angeles. At that time, Art Expo was the largest art fair in the world, and Maura was the first woman to direct a major international fair.
From Art Expo, Maura went to London as International Director, Europe and Australia, of Petersburg Galleries, whose artists included Francesco Clemente, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Jim Dine and Jasper Johns.
Returning to New York, she was recruited for a start-up developing gallery-to-gallery intranets, later sold to GE Capital. She then joined a major public relations company specializing in arts projects, and later worked in Paris as a private dealer.
Returning to the States, she opened a gallery in St. Petersburg, Florida, which featured a diverse range of exhibitions, often in collaboration with galleries and curators in Europe.
She currently deals in modern and contemporary art, and travels widely in her search for the perfect wine bar.
