Editors Note: Mould gets his panties in a twist just because his former associate came up with a better and more Telegenic idea for BBC-4. After all his adventures doing fake or fortune with his too clever by half insights into the upside of bad paintings which turn out to be wrong anyhow, it seems he and his sidekick Fiona are equally unqualified at fully appreciating the masterpieces when their best known stint can be termed "dumpster diving".
We all know why he entertained such an idea, that he could find something super cheap and then pawn it off on a greater fool, like Stunt. So, ask yourself again Mr. Mould, why should you host a show on great art, when all you seemingly do is look for a hustle?
We use this painting by Gainsborough to remind Mould what a real landscape by the artist looks like. Before he talks about museum art, perhaps he should familiarize himself with what true quality may be.
Mould, who co-presents BBC1 show Fake or Fortune? with newsreader Fiona Bruce and Grosvenor, was reported in the Sunday Times to be cross that Grosvenor fronted his own show.
Grosvenor co-hosted BBC Four's Britain’s Lost Masterpieces earlier this year and The Sunday Timesarticle claimed Bruce and Mould are “furious” because it is too similar to Fake or Fortune?
Mould and Grosvenor declined to comment on the claims.
On Sunday evening Mould took to Twitter and said the Fake or Fortune? team are “now roused and looking forward to making a clutch of new programmes. We stand poised to consider anything fascinating.”
