Wayne Thiebaud’s Four Pinball Machines will be among the top highlights of Christie’s around-the-world live auction on July 10, with an estimated price between $18 million and $25 million, which would set a record for the artist. 

The anticipated result for the 1962 painting—which Christie’s said “remains the most important work by the artist in private hands”—would more than double the previous auction record for a work by Thiebaud, an American artist who turns 100 in November.
