Long buried relics of a destroyed McKim Meade and White masterpiece unearthed at last. The relics include tunnels sealed since the 1980s and WPA murals shrouded since the 1960s, the date when New York committed the atrocity of leveling the great station only to replace it with a layered combo, a sewer station down low and the souless Madison Square up top, now owned by the evil James Dolan.
Parts of Penn Station are being seen for the first time since the Ed Koch administration, thanks to the extensive overhaul and renovations going on there.
Photos posted to UntappedCities.com show a tunnel that at one time years ago connected Long Island Rail Road to the IRT, the subway lines more commonly known today as the 1, 2 and 3 lines.
