Doyles will start the new year off with a bang as the collection of art assembled by the late Nelson Doubleday heads for the auction block this week. Doubleday, a long time resident of New York and Hobe Sound, Florida was best known for his able ownership of the New York Mets baseball team. Lesser known was his art collection, mostly consisting of exquisite marine paintings by Montegue Dawson, James Edward Buttersworth and Eugene Boudin. Market tastes may have changed, but these are marvelous works about to go on sale.
